St. Chapelle

St. Chapelle is one of the most beautiful of European cathedrals that I have had the luck to visit. It is a gothic cathedral in the heart of Paris.  It was completed around 1248. Much of the chapel today has been restored, but 2/3 of the stain glass windows are original.  The  stained glass windows illustrate all of the major biblical events.  The lighting is exquisite and awe inspiring. 

Gainsbourg/Gainsbarre

Serge Gainsbourg, a music legend in France, was the coolest agent provocateur in his music and in life.  In 1969, He wrote the  ultimate erotic song Je t'aime mon non plus which was subsequently banned by the Vatican. His house is in the area of St. Germain des Pres.  It is a shrine covered with hommages and gifts to his memory.  I left him a kiss on the cheek for luck.

Musée de L'Orangerie showcases Claude Monet's sublime masterpieces

Meeting Juan Luis Bunuel

One of the amazing aspects of Paris is the rich history of film and cinema.  I was lucky enough to be introduced through my friend Oscar to Juan Luis Bunuel, filmmaker and son of Luis Bunuel ( Un chien andalou et The discreet charm of the bourgeoise).   We talked at length about cinema, politics, and teaching art.  A beautiful man who is also a talented sculptor. (Also note the dress in the photo is another Tim Bargeot purchase) 

Crazy for Tim Bargeot

Tim Bargeot is a 60's inspired clothing store in Paris; it is truly a "mod's wet dream!"--a quote from Agent J. I of course went "bargeot" (--French slang for crazy!) for this store. Two dresses and I should have bought more Tim Bargeot.
